Bathroom in three days
Photorealistic bathroom built from scratch in Blender in three days as part of my final exam at 3D College Danmark. The project was graded A.
Introduction
For my final exam at 3D College Danmark, I made a photorealistic rendering of a modern, minimalist bathroom, built from scratch in Blender in three days. The starting point was a very simple reference image. I designed the layout, fittings, materials and details myself, so that it met the requirement of four static camera shots and two animated sequences. I used only natural light and no AI tools.
Requirements
The exam required four static camera angles that showed the whole room and the details I designed: the frameless shower enclosure with glass blocks, the wall-hung vanity unit and the integrated lighting. One of the angles shows the light coming in through the window. In addition, it required two animations: a camera that circles the room, and a fly-through from the door to the shower. Both are lit with natural light.
Conclusion
The hardest part was finding time to iterate on the whole design and at the same time optimise the renders with natural light in three days. I made details such as folds in fabric and refraction in glass without outside help. The project was graded A.

Workflow
The concept sketch from the school was the basis for my modelling of every part in Blender, from the slate tiles and the porcelain basin to the wooden elements and the abstract art. All the lighting comes from HDRI environment maps as daylight through the window. Cycles rendered the animations with denoising, and finally I put them together in DaVinci Resolve with a light colour correction. No AI was used.
